The Law of Ruma
Official Core Definition

The Law of Ruma is an independent philosophy created by Jean Nishita. It explores anger, non-retaliation, one million particles of the light of happiness, emotional value, and quiet strength as a philosophical and educational framework for breaking the chain of anger.

Fundamental Premise

Fundamental Premise

Every person is born with one million particles of the light of happiness.

Three Core Principles

Three Core Principles

1

When anger is released, particles of light are released.

When a person releases anger, particles of the light of happiness are released from that person. Anger is not only an act that hurts another person; it is also an act of losing one’s own particles of happiness-light.

2

If anger is returned, both sets of particles collide and disappear.

If the listener responds with anger, the listener’s own particles of the light of happiness are also released. The two sets of particles collide in the air and disappear without reaching either person.

3

If the listener does not retaliate, the other person’s particles reach them and increase their light.

If the listener does not retaliate and keeps stillness, the other person’s released particles of the light of happiness do not disappear. They reach the person who remained quiet and become part of that person’s own light of happiness.

Educational Meaning of Structure 1

For the Person Who Releases Anger

Harming others means losing one’s own Ruma first. This is not a fourth structure; it is a clarification of Basic Structure 1: Release.

Emotional Economy

Why “particles” matter

In the Law of Ruma, the light of happiness is not only an abstract light. It is understood as countable particles. Every person is born with one million particles of the light of happiness.

Because the light has this quantitative structure, it can decrease, be lost, be received, accumulate, and increase. This is the foundation of Ruma’s concept of emotional economy and emotional assets.

Important Clarification

Important Clarification

Not passive endurance

The Law of Ruma does not glorify suffering, silent pain, or simple endurance.

Not acceptance of injustice

Against violence, injustice, abuse, and exploitation, boundaries, protection, consultation, distance, and justice remain necessary.

A philosophy of response

The Law of Ruma focuses on the moment of choice: whether to return anger with anger or to keep stillness.
